Arrival date: 21 October 2009
What a wonderful place, brilliant location - minutes from the station. Lovely spacious room, clean and
comfortable with a lovely view to the hills. A nice touch to have a DVD player as well as the television
in the room. A great bonus was access to a kitchen which was brilliant if you fancied a hot drink and cook
yoursel, free internet access 24/7 on the reception pc and free wi-fi too. Francesco and Paola were so
accommodating. This was our second visit to Florence and was so good we can't wait to visit again, we will
definitely stay here again.Via Faenza is a perfect location as there are plenty of nice eateries within the
street, the market, bars and plenty of shops and relatively traffic free. Can't praise it enough, great place,
great people, great location. Don't hesitate - stay there!

One of the best stays we have had! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, cleaned daily room, cosy and with
views! Great cooking facilities, tea and coffee all day, computer to use whenever you like for free, TV and
DVD player, helpful travel advice, great people passing through from all over the world but small enough to
feel like you are at home. Perfect to cook a meal after a busy day or for a good night's sleep. Highly
recommended!!!!

Warm and welcoming... The owner was so helpful and friendly; the location was fabulous (about three minutes walking from the train station-- central to everything AND quiet). I have stayed at many hostels but never loved one enough to write about it. Wonderful (clean/spacious/equipped) room and bathroom. Above and beyond... Wish we had more time here.

Our stay at the Ghiro was wonderful. It's in a great location, and Paola was fantastic. She booked us dinner
reservations for the night and told us about non-touristic sights to see in Florence! If you're on a budget
and want a nice place to crash - stay here!

This guesthouse is a superb deal.. You are close to everything, you have what you need close by, its clean,
run, convenient to the train station (10 min walk) access to a kitchen to make your own things to eat. The
staff superb. Francesco was beyond helpful helping us with arrangements, reservations and just being an all
around great guy. Paola was also helpful and great. Choose this hostel, its very worth the money. Can't
recommend it enough.

Wonderful stay! Nice big room, only a few minutes walk to the Duomo and Mercato Centrale, great Internet
access... we have only good things to say about Il Ghiro. But best of all was the hospitality and helpfulness
of Francesco, who stood out as a wealth of information even in a trip full of wonderfully helpful hosts. Would
stay again!

This is a fantastic place to stay. It's only a 5 min walk to main train station and small supermarkets, cafes,
restaurants, markets and main attractions. Francesco was the most welcoming, friendly and helpful person we have
met on our travels and will do whatever he can to make your stay enjoyable. Our room at the front (Room 1) was
lovely, airy and with air con. Bathroom was clean and nice. Bed comfy. Free wifi in rooms and free computer in
reception area. Would definitely return and recommend to others. Big thanks to Francesco for booking our Ducati
Museum tour for us!

Arrival date: 22 October 2007
Amazing hostel!!!! Location is perfect, right by the train station and really close to all major sites in Firenze.
Very clean and confortable with everything you need: kitchen, laundry, free internet and several guides available.
But the best thing about Il Ghiro is the very interested and helpful Francesco who gave us amazing tips about the
region and told us some of Firenze's interesting history.

Il Ghiro was a perfect location to explore Florence, ideally centrally situated. We were impressed with the
cleanliness and facilities, especially the heated towel rail, quality of the bed linen. We loved the fact that
we could walk to the markets and explore the city, and were able to nip back to Il Ghiro to have a cup of tea,
a rest for half an hour, drop off shopping. We enjoyed the picnics we had in our room in the evening with the
windows of our room open and the smell of the rain.

Friendly and helpfull staff, in the historical center of Florence, very nice, clean and coasy room and bathroom.
Excellent cooking facilities and fridge. Big plus for the silence. You can not believe you sleep in the very heart
of city but in a nice and silent place.

Arrival date: 19 April 2008
This is the best hostel I've stayed in anywhere - and after 12 months of backpacking I've stayed in a lot. More
like a hotel, the rooms are very clean, bright and well furnished even with a TV and dvd player in our room.
Location is excellent and no more than 10 minutes walk to all attractions and only 2 minutes from the main train
station. The staff were lovely. They gave us a map on arrival and helped us plan our trip, they even booked our
tickets to the local attractions.Would def stay here again.

Honestly, everything was great! The room, the staff, the location...everything. Always clean! It was within
walking minutes of everything. It was very comfortable. It also helped that their was a kitchen area and laundry
(considering we have been traveling for a month). They even gave us detergent to WASH our clothes! They had an
espresso machine, which my friend loved! Honestly...one of the BEST places I have stayed. If I visit Florence
again, it will be my number one pick. It felt more like a home, than a hostel. The staff was the BEST! They were
so helpful!! They even scheduled us for another hostel and told us about the places to see. EXCELLENT!
